I finally pulled the trigger on a new bass amp today. After lots of research, I decided to go with a Gallien-Krueger 700RB/210 combo amp. I wanted a combo for portability, but I also wanted sufficient power and overhead for small gigs and the option to an add an extension cabinet down the road. This baby will give me all that, plus a cool built-in handle and wheels for easy transportation on flat surfaces. Jeez, I sound like a commercial! Anyway, I don't actually have it yet. I ordered it from Rik's Music, who didn't have it in stock. They'll have to special order it, but they said it should get to me in a little over a week. In the meantime, I'm going to start selling some of my old equipment on eBay. I know I have a bass and two amps I want to sell. I also have a whole slew of stomp boxes that haven't felt my foot in years.

On Saturday, I grilled up my best brats ever! At the Virginia Tech/Temple game I grilled Johnsonville bratwurst links, about seven minutes on each side. I then immersed the brats in a pan of Yuengling Porter (three bottles worth) and boiled them for about 20 minutes. I also made sure to poke holes in the brats so the beer would soak in. The result was a sinful blend of beer, meat, and spices, all of which we washed down with refreshing Sam Adams Light.
