Here are partial tone specifications for the first eight modeled amps as communicated to me by a Korg product support specialist. (The other three models - AC100, SILVER, UKMAJOR - are proprietary.)
According to the user manual, the first seven amps have sweepable mid ranges at five center frequencies. However, it doesn't state what those frequencies are. I sent Korg support an e-mail asking if they could devulge this information and I received the specs below. Only for the first two amps (VALVE and VALVE 2) did I receive a listing of the five center frquencies. The next two (CLASSIC and SCOOPED) I received only four frequencies. The next two (LA STUD and GOLD PANEL) I received the useless word "parametric", which I already knew. The JAZZ amp included one frequency, while the STUDIO amp was listed N/A. I realize the STUDIO amp is not one with sweepable mid-range, but are they saying it and the other 3 amps have no mid-range control whatsoever? I don't think so. I've played with those amps and the mid-range control certainly works on them. I emailed Korg for clarification but never got a response. I'll keep trying but I won't hold my breath. Korg has bigger fish to fry than providing tone specs to some weirdo obsessed with the Ampworks Bass.
So on the down side, the mid frequency information in the chart below is incomplete. (Either that or the manual is just plain wrong in stating the first seven amps have five center frequencies for the mid-range.) On the other hand, it does have complete low and high frequencies, so it's not totally useless. (March 9, 2005)
